STOP THE I SHOULD DO , I HAVE TO , I GOT TO AND REPLACE WITH I CHOOSE TO, I GET TO , I LOVE TO
Many of us have a very strong inner critic that constantly uses demanding self talk to convince us we have no choice in situations . This mental judge within us uses words like 'I HAVE TO " , "I'VE GOT TO" & "I SHOULD DO " to list the tasks we feel we have no choice about.
Each morning we set our agenda for the day based on these envisioned responsibilities as if we have no choice in the matter . At its root is the idea that to be a productive person we must complete our duties in order for us to be perceive ourselves to be worthy of self appreciation. Often judging ourselves quite harshly if we do not .
This constant pressure creates a inner exhaustion as we slave away to complete these tasks fearful of losing our own value if we do not .This misguided internal dialogue completely misses that we have chosen every situation and the pressure we apply to ourselves to complete it , yet at every moment we can choose a new . Our true value is felt when we take ownership of our choices recognizing we are our own own authority. We then let excitement guide our choices and allow ourselves to be guided by "I CHOOSE TO " I GET TO" and "I LOVE TO "
