STOP THE DEMANDS

Updated: Feb 12

WHEN WE STOP MAKING DEMANDS ON OURSELVES WE STOP

MAKING DEMANDS OF OTHERS

...And we are finally free to love both them and ourselves

Life can be demanding but never more so than the mental demands we make on ourselves. We all have a idealized version of the roles we play in our lives and what we must live up to , to meet these aspirations is sometimes unhealthy . We compare ourselves to unrealistic archetypes and then are hard on ourselves if we don't meet them .

The reason we feel we act this way is that we hold back our natural being judging ourselves to not be worthy and believe we have to push ourselves to reach a twisted idea of perfection so that we maybe loved and feel we have value . This stifles our true selves in order to achieve a fake status that in the end traps us in its seductive prison .

Finally we realize that the cost is not worth the payoff and tire of this exhausting self inflicted game and surrender . When we choose to step out of this demanding cycle we move into a completely different relationship with life and are able to discover the freedom we sought was within us all along.  This then reflects in our actions with others as we stop making demands on them , which invites authentic beautiful relationships to blossom in our lives .

What unreasonable self demand can you drop today?
