We are all good at looking at things from our own perspective, yet what would create healthier connections is when we try to see things from another’s point of view.
They way we all see things is our perspective and that is crafted moment to moment throughout our lives and directly informs the way we perceive the world outside us , yet we rarely recognize that all our perception is heavily skewed to what we deem as important to us.
We literally subconsciously select what to pay attention too and what to deem as unimportant.
This self oriented approach means that we can come into conflict, when in relationships we come up against differing opinions. If we wish to have a harmonious interaction with others the first thing we have to do is open our eyes to this fact .
When we are able to use empathy as a tool to listen deeply to another and align ourselves to their perspective, we can can truly see them with open eyes and understand how they see the world allowing ourselves to find the common humanity between us .
… for behind all our opinions we are all much more alike on the inside than we might have thought at first .
Try looking at another’s perspective today to bring harmony and understanding !
